Fall is almost here and with it new jewelry and fashion trends are taking place. The fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture runways delivered an exciting mix of ways to style earrings, necklaces, and more, from strikingly minimal to over-the-top.
While designers like Weinsanto and Adeam adorned their collections with trendy pieces like body chains and ear cuffs, others opted to draw inspiration from the archives. Saint Laurent, Balmain, and Chanel delivered vintage vibes through bangles and studs. Street style and punk aesthetics were applied to pearls and chains, playfully butting up against styling expectations.
Here are 7 Fall Jewelry Trends we can get behind.
Flowers
Floral jewelry rarely goes out of style for spring and summer, but some designers gave the bouquet theme an autumn update. The rosette choker necklaces that took over this year's red carpets were given a hyper realistic vibe. In the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture Fall/Winter show, rosettes appeared as dangling drop and statement stud earrings.
Layered Necklace
Designers display over blended different necklace styles to create totally unique jewelry art. When recreating this jewelry trend at home, don't be afraid to play with very different lengths and make sure to choose the appropriate neckline to avoid visual overcrowding.
Mixed Metals
Mixed metals provide a multi-dimensional effect and you can play with the mixing with whimsy. If you're a silver person, start slowly getting into the gold, and just play.
Pearls
Rather than single strands or delicate loops, the fall runways featured major statement moments including supersized pearl jewelry, from XXL hoops to beribboned earrings and punk-inspired necklaces. Nevertheless, pearls would never get out of style, so used them as you like.
Natural Gems
We love the sparkle, but the unique look that rough-cut crystals provide are equally appealing. From the polished quartz earrings seen at Zimmermann to De Pesta's beaded crystal necklaces, the vibe was empowering but make it fashion.
Heart-Shaped
Several designers brought big locket energy to their runway shows with sweetheart shapes. The heart shaped charms provide a vintage feel but with the modern edgy vibe designers were able to incorporate.
Statement Studs
Stud earrings are often considered jewelry box basics, but designers like Saint Laurent and Balmain took a vastly different approach with larger-than-life circular studs that are as statement-making as glitzy chandelier earrings and we are in love.
